The Power of our Father's Love Bethany Christian Assembly

The important thing is to find pathways to affection, like playfully wrestling, serving a hearty lunch, or covering your child with a warm blanket. As these studies suggest, those are the moments that children will remember for the rest of their lives—and which can help them to flourish in adulthood. I was not as lucky as you to have a loving father. I was most blessed to find Our Heavenly Father at the tender age of 18. Having a very abusive father, my life was in turmoil.

God gave David a promise that He would build him a sure house — an everlasting kingdom that would be established forever. And through all of David's testings, sins and disgrace, God's purpose was not hindered. Even when shame was heaped on David by his own family and sons, he held onto God's promise and wouldn't let go. Our Heavenly Father loves each of us like there is only one of us.

He has also taught me the power of love and faith. What I loved about him was that he supported my interests and activities (electronics!) as he as was an engineer. I wished I had developed a stronger communication and bond with him in my teenage years – but that is easy to say now that my adolescent years are past. The original plan was that both parents would creatively weave their different ways of loving into a tapestry of knitted emotions, verbal expressions, affectionate displays, and intellectual harmony. There would be no competition, nor lack of love from either side. This type of loving would create a family chemistry that would ride through the roughest storms and sail over the darkest clouds.

I think the church would become very radical because when we live secure in our identity as the beloved children of our Daddy, we're not focused on trying to get what we need. We're not focused on that orphan mentality of protecting ourselves anymore, but we're able to love the people around us radically. We're able to be radically generous because we know who our Father is and we know that He provides for us. If the global church experiences the reality that God is a Father who loves us, I think the church would become so radically powerful in love.

Every single decision “Daddy-man” has made and he continues to make, is with his daughter’s the love of a Father best interest in mind. He has sacrificed so much of his own life to make sure he gives his daughter what she needs to thrive in the world. While you may know of a lot of single, handsome guys out to impress the ladies with their sports cars or with the latest trend of the day, a new car isn’t even a thought in his mind. This particular dad puts his daughter and her welfare as the top priority on his list of importance, above anyone and anything else. The baby soon began to crawl and then she toddled and then she walked, and when she first said “daddy”, his world was turned upside down with pride! She soon began calling her father “Daddy-man”, a name that stuck throughout her young childhood years, and which even today, as he’s reading this, I’m sure still brings tears of love to his eyes.

Unlike girls, who model their relationships with others based on their father’s character, boys model themselves after their father’s character. Boys will seek approval from their fathers from a very young age. As human beings, we grow up by imitating the behavior of those around us; that’s how we learn to function in the world. If a father is caring and treats people with respect, the young boy will grow up much the same.

God’s wonderful blessings to you and your family this Father’s Day. These quotes are the perfect way to tell your dad "I love you," whether it's on June 19, or just because. After all, dads deserve just as much love and admiration on any given Tuesday as they do on their special day.

"Even the best dads make mistakes. But there is no mistaking their love for their children." They also have a healthy familiarity with the world of men – they don’t wonder how a man’s facial stubble feels or what it’s like to be hugged by strong arms. This knowledge builds emotional security as well as safety from the exploitation of predatory males. Material provision can be tough when jobs are lost and tough times hit.

"The outside world will have to wait a little longer to greet you, little one. Spending some father and bonding time is my number one priority." "Ten toes, ten fingers, two eyes, two lips, and one nose; I can't wait to meet each part of you! As your father, it is your heart I promise to cherish most." "Dads are the true superheros. They will leap over any obstacle to protect their child from danger."

Why do we think of loving fatherhood in mothering terms? Is it because we attribute tenderness and affectionate actions to being feminine rather than just being loving? Fathers are not made with the extra soft cushion of fat under the skin like mothers have. Nevertheless, fathers do have other body parts mothers have. They have arms, legs, eyes, lips, and ears that all are needed for the act of loving. Fathers also have brains that, according to research, have the same ability as mothers have to think, feel pain, laugh, and cry.
